Directions: Sugar Bowl ski area is located 40 miles west of Reno, Nevada, and 90 miles east of Sacramento, California. Take I-80 to the Norden/Soda Springs exit, then Old Highway 40 south. Go 3 miles to Sugar Bowl's Village Gondola parking lot. The covered parking lot is on your right.
For faster access to the slopes and terrain park, continue on Highway 40 another half mile. Turn right at the Main entrance and park in the Main Lot for convenient slopeside parking near the new Main Lodge.
From Truckee, go to Donner Pass Road at the Gateway Shopping Center in Truckee. Turn left on Donner Pass Road and follow it past Donner Lake, three miles up and over the summit. If Donner Pass Road is closed, you can try the longer route above via I-80. |
